#INTELECTRON MOTION DETECTOR SECURITY LIGHT WONT TURN OFF HOW TO#
This is how to work out which reason is the one causing your motion sensor light to stay on. The first step is to work out why the light is staying on. Doing some troubleshooting will allow you to find the reason why it is not working as it should and reset the light Unfortunately, this is not always the case, and there are a few reasons why your motion sensor light stays on and does not operate properly. Motion sensor lights can increase the security and safety around your home when they work correctly. Some can sense even the slightest changes in ambient temperatures as an object moves through the light’s motion detection range. Motion sensor lights all have different sensitivities.

Secure the motion detector to the switch box using the mounting screws that come with the detector. Place the new motion detector in the right position. Do the same thing with the black wires, securing the wires together with a wire nut. Attach the two wires together with a wire nut.

Step 3 - Install new DetectorĬonnect the two white wires (the one from the wall with the one on the back of the motion detector). Strip the plastic installation off the ends of the white and black wires that are in the wall using wire strippers. If there are any extra open screw holes, fill them with caulk so that water doesn't get inside. Cut the black and white wires from the broken motion detector to remove it from the wall. Remove the old fixture by taking the screws out from the wall plate of the old motion detector. Check to make sure it is off before proceeding. If you want to be extra careful, turn off all the electricity in your home. Before starting the project, figure out which circuit sends power to the motion detector and turn it off from the circuit breaker. Buy a new motion detector that has the same wattage as the one you are replacing.
